Mirobot (V2) - The Drawing Robot! [Discontinued]

Mirobot is a build-it-yourself WiFi drawing robot kit that's designed to help children learn about technology, engineering and programming. It's easy to build and lots of fun to use.

Assembly

Mirobot is easy to assemble; you won't need any tools of your own and the circuit board is already soldered so you can get started using it straight away.

Connectivity

Mirobot is a WiFi robot which means it's really easy to connect to all of your existing devices, whether it's a laptop, tablet or even a phone. Everything you need to get it drawing is built-in, but once it's on your WiFi network you'll be able to use a wide range of apps (for a wide range of ages) to help you make it do new things.

Programming

Mirobot is all about helping children to learn the basics of programming (and beyond!). Children can use several simple drag-and-drop programming tools to control it and then move on to use the Javascript app to program it directly from your browser or with your favourite programming language.

Apps

The exciting thing about using Mirobot are the apps that can be used to control it. These include Point and Click, Remote Control, Snap! (identical to Scratch) and Javascript. All apps run in your browser and do not require any special software to be installed.

It Doesn't Only Draw

Use the built-in collision detection sensors to make Mirobot bounce off the walls or make it follow lines using the included line follower module. Both of these activities are good basic robotics techniques that will help you learn more about how more complex robots work. It can also beep!
